  • macOS: Drag the new version into your Applications folder and select “Replace” if prompted.
  • Windows: Run the new .exe and follow the prompts to overwrite the previous installation.

2. Upgrade the Chrome Extension

Because the extension is currently installed via Developer Mode (Unpacked), you must remove the stale version before adding the new one.

Remove Old Version

Navigate to chrome://extensions. Find the existing MemoryBox card and click Remove.Note: This will not delete your memories; those are stored safely in your Desktop App.

Unpack New Extension

Download the latest extension .zip from your invitation link. Follow the Quickstart Guide steps to “Load Unpacked” the new folder.

Refresh AI Tabs

Once the new extension is active, refresh any open tabs for ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini to initialize the updated UI components.

Pro-Tip: If your “Backend Link” doesn’t turn green immediately after an upgrade, try restarting the Desktop App first, then clicking the Refresh button in the Browser Action Pop-up.
