The Collection Phase

In MemoryBox, your thinking is never lost. Phase 2 is about bringing your digital history home—whether it’s a live chat in your browser or a ZIP export from ChatGPT—and preparing it for your Synaptic Archive.

📥 Owning Your History (Imports)

Before you can organize your ideas, you need to collect them. Use the Import tool to bring your context into a space you own and control.
Importing Browser and Coding sessions

1. The Memory Connector (Sync)

Sync live conversations from ChatGPT, Gemini, or DeepSeek directly within the web app using the Browser Extension. For developers, enable auto-sync for Claude Code and Codex to keep your technical flow in sync.

2. Bulk Platform Exports

You can bring years of context home by importing ZIP exports from platforms like ChatGPT. (This option is located at the bottom of the Import screen).

🛡️ Curating & Protecting Your Data

Once your sessions are in the library, you have total authority over them. MemoryBox provides surgical tools to ensure your Synaptic Archive stays clean, relevant, and secure.
Session management options: Idea, Rename, Delete

💡 Turn into an Idea (The Space Bridge)

This is your most powerful tool. By clicking Turn into an Idea, you bridge the gap between a raw chat and a structured project. This process allows you to officially associate the session with a specific Memory Space, moving it from your general library into a dedicated “room.”

✏️ Rename

Give your thinking intentional names. Transforming a generic “Chat with AI” into “Q4 Strategy Brainstorm” makes your context searchable and organized for future use.

🗑️ Delete

Data protection means having the power to let go. If a session no longer serves your intent or contains outdated information, you can delete it permanently from your local machine. You are the sole curator of what MemoryBox remembers.
The Circular Journey: You don’t have to organize everything immediately. Collect your sessions now, and in Phase 3, we’ll build the Memory Spaces (the shelves) where these ideas will live.

Next Step: Phase 3 — Curate Your Context

Now that your ideas are in the building, it’s time to build your Memory Spaces and unpack your sessions into their dedicated rooms.
