Extending the Thinking Layer

The Connectors tab is where you bridge the gap between ideation and action. By utilizing the Model Context Protocol (MCP), MemoryBox allows your AI Experts to securely connect with third-party applications, giving them the ability to perform tasks and retrieve specialized data.

MemoryBox currently features deep integration with Canva. When enabled, your AI Experts gain the ability to search your Canva designs, access brand assets, and assist in the creative production process directly from the Command Center.
  • Authorization: Clicking Connect will securely link your Canva account to your local MemoryBox instance.
  • Grounded Creativity: Once connected, your “Synaptic Archive” can reference your existing design work to ensure new ideas stay on-brand.

🛠️ MCP Servers (Advanced Extensibility)

For users who want to build their own custom “Thinking Layer,” MemoryBox supports the addition of custom MCP Servers. This allows you to connect your AI Experts to any tool that supports the protocol—from local databases to specialized API services.

Configuring a Server

To add a new capability, you can define a server configuration in the Config window:
  1. Name: Provide a recognizable label for the tool.
  2. Type: Define the server type (e.g., stdio).
  3. Command & Arguments: Enter the specific execution commands required to initialize the server on your machine.

The Benefit: Multi-Model Agency

By adding connectors, you are moving from “Chatting with AI” to “Directing AI.” An AI Expert with a connector can:
  • Query local file systems.
  • Access specialized knowledge bases.
  • Trigger actions in third-party productivity apps.

Security Note: All connectors and MCP server configurations are stored and managed locally. MemoryBox never grants an AI Expert access to an external tool without your explicit authorization in this menu.

💾 Saving Your Configuration

To ensure your adjustments are applied to your Synaptic Archive and the Command Center, you must commit your changes before exiting the Settings window.
  • Save: Click the Save button in the bottom-right corner to apply your new settings.
  • Cancel: If you wish to discard your changes and revert to your previous configuration, click Cancel.
Unsaved Changes: Navigating away from a settings tab or closing the window without clicking Save will result in the loss of your adjustments. Always confirm your changes to maintain the integrity of your workspace.
